We are seeking TALENTED individuals committed to exercise, teamwork, hard work, and helping others. We seek individuals with a demonstrated track record of success on a team (former coaches, successful college team players, etc…) that are looking to combine their passion with a career working with non-athletes who need coaching and training. We are looking for applicants that are currently available and seeking a full-time career.
We improve our clients lives by applying the scientifically based "GH Method" customized for each client. We collaborate with leading university professors from schools including UIC and the Adler School of Professional Psychology. See a video that includes the perspective of one of Chicago's top academic psychologists about the GH Method:

We are a very unique health facility named the "School for Healthy Living" that uses personal training mixed with nutrition and psychology to help our clients achieve sustainable changes in their lives. The simplest name for what we do would be "personal training" but we are nothing like a traditional personal training business in terms of how we work. Our team is managed to implement and customize a proven game plan to help clients through personal training sessions and some coaching outside the session.
The GH Method is currently being put into a full clinical trial by UIC Department of Surgery and the Adler School of Professional Psychology, and we are only expanding our work within the medical community as well as thought-leaders throughout Chicago. We are in the process of being approved for another clinical trial with the Adler School of Psychology and University of Chicago focused on high risk cardiac patients. In addition, we have formed pilot programs with several researchers to develop a customized GH Method for improving health outcomes for particular disease and patient groups.
We have hired both head coaches as well as assistant coaches, we have different career levels within GH based on experience and talent but we DO HIRE TALENT!
Our 2011 hires include:
Kelly Lindsey, former co-Head Coach of Women's Soccer at University of California Berkeley, as well as former Head Coach of a Professional Soccer Team Sky Blue.
Dan Zierfuss, former Head Coach of Men's Track and Field and Cross Country at Knox College. Dan has an undergraduate in psychology and a masters degree in sports management.
Erin Ekeberg, former Assistant Head Coach of Womens Soccer for five years at Northwestern, and also a graduate of Georgetown Law School.
We have three private, up-scale locations throughout greater Chicago and are exclusively focused on one-on-one training and interactions as that is where we find we can change our clients lives for the better. We currently are recruiting for both our Bucktown location (1.5 miles from downtown) and our Glenview location (12 miles from downtown).
Are you a former successful college athlete or coach? Do you dream of a career where you can use sports and fitness to make a positive difference in other people's lives? Maybe you have thought about personal training and maybe you have NEVER thought of being a personal trainer, but look at our website, think about what you are looking for, and if you are interested then send us a resume.
We invest in the team (call them personal trainers) continuing education by putting everyone through our internal GH University. We believe in teamwork and, despite this economy, we are growing in all of our locations. We are currently seeking successful, passionate professionals who want to have a career with professionalism, advancement, passion and hard work. We view personal training/wellness education as a serious profession -- we invest our energy and training into team members committed to being full-time with us. That means we are ONLY looking for those willing to make a full-time commitment and interested in a long-term career path with GH.
If you are interested, send us your resume and let us know why you think this would be a great fit for you.
